California Serial Killer Murdered in Prison
Whoever said that “justice isn’t served in prison” forgets about these ever so satisfying stories of inmates that get “what’s coming to them” at the hands of fellow inmates behind those walls.
Such was the case in California recently when the notorious “I-5 Strangler” “was found murdered at the California state prison where he was serving multiple life sentences.
A guard at Mule Creek State Prison, which is located near Sacramento, found Roger Reece Kibbe unconscious on the floor of his cell during a recent routine check. The 81-year-old died in the prison’s infirmary an hour later, according to local papers. Kibbe’s cellmate, Jason Budrow, 40, is the suspect of killing the octogenarian serial killer.
Budrow is a convicted murderer himself who is also serving life without the possibility of parole.
Kibbe was convicted in 1991 for the murder of a teen-aged prostitute that took place in 1987. The girl Darcine Frackenpohl, 17, had been a runaway. Her nearly nude body was found by a jogger west of South Lake Tahoe below Echo Summit in September 1987, two to three weeks after she was killed. Her pink dress was discovered about 1,000 feet from the body.
However, police suspected he was responsible for the slayings of at least seven other women over the course of two decades, starting in 1977. While he was doing time for Frackenpohl’s murder, DNA and other evidence surfaced, which tied him to six other killings in the early 2000s.
In 2009, Kibbe pleaded guilty to the slayings, rapes, and kidnappings — one in 1977 and five in 1986 — in exchange for prosecutors not seeking the death penalty, according to the Sacramento Bee. Those victims were Lou Ellen Burleigh, 21, in 1977 and Stephanie Brown, 19; Lora Hendrick, 20; Katherine Kelly Quinones, 25; Charmaine Sabrah, 26; and Barbara Ann Scott, 29, all in 1986.
Interstate 5 was a common denominator in several of the attacks, leading police and reporters to refer to the incidents as the “I-5 Strangler” slayings. In one instance, he killed a woman whose car broke down on the highway, according to the Bee. In another, he reportedly disposed of a victim’s body near the I-5.
Kibbe had been at the prison since 2013, but officials wouldn’t say how long he had been housed with his cellmate and could provide no motive for the slaying at this time, citing the ongoing investigation.
However, ironically the autopsy report, which was released days after his limp body was found on the floor of his prison cell, revealed that the infamous “I-5 Strangler” died by being choked to death.
Vito Bertocchini, a retired San Joaquin County sheriff’s detective and district attorney’s investigator, who helped bring Kibbe in, told the Sacramento Bee that Kibbe’s death by strangulation was “some fitting justice.”
“I don’t wish ill on anyone,” Bertocchini said. “But I hope he remembered every one of his victims while he was being killed.”
It’s such a pity the Death Penalty has been abolished in most parts of the Western world. I can envisage a time when it will be thankfully reinstated as TRUE Christianity continues to re-establish and assert itself all over again. God help the Marxian Liberal cabal when it does – not!!

This piece of human garbage should have been sent to Iran or China since the leftists think so much of them. They would have executed him within minutes of finding him guilty. No plea bargaining, no appealing a long sentence. When the evidence is cut and dried and there is no question of the man’s guilt this monster needed to have been put to death long ago. If California wants to truly save itself money they should transport his body in a garbage truck to the nearest landfill or incinerator.
Also Kibbe should be put to death for raping and killing seven young females, one only 17.

Alas, we seem to care more about the murders and rapists than we do of their unfortunate victims. I want no man or woman to die or be convicted unjustly as many have been but but the victims deserve justice. It is a difficult call but a murderer should be put to death for taking the life of any innocent.
