Iowa Senate Ratifies Abortion Bill
In the 1973 Roe vs. Wade case the Supreme Court ruled to legalize abortion within the United States. Over 60 bills have recently been submitted to various legislatures with the goal of side-stepping the Supreme Court and deciding upon abortion rights at the state level.
One of these bills was ratified by the Iowa State Senate on last Wednesday. This proposed constitutional amendment declares that Iowa law will not “recognize, grant, or secure a right to an abortion.”
On Monday, May 17, the U.S. Supreme Court decided to hear a Mississippi abortion case arguing for a law that bans abortion after 15 weeks. If approved, Mississippi law will scratch 10 years off this limit. The case will be heard next term.
In 2018, Former Governor Phil Bryant, a Republican, signed into law a ban on abortions past the 15th week. The law di make exceptions for medical emergencies and instances of severe fetal abnormality, but not for instances of rape or incest. The law had been blocked in 2018 by a federal judge in Mississippi and this decision was upheld in 2019 by the 5th US Circuit Court of Appeals.
The proposed amendment will also stop “judicial overreach” such as that of the federal judge when blocking Gov. Bryant’s amendment.
“This amendment will allow the people, not unelected judges, and not us, to decide the issue of who’s going to make laws regarding abortion,” said Iowa Senate President Jake Chapman, R-Adel.
The bill was passed by the state House in January by a vote of 55 to 44. The senate ruled the bill and amendment by a vote of 30 to 18, with the division being along party lines. Iowa governors cast no vote on amendments to the constitution. Instead, the decision is left to the people of the state.
The bill will be put on the 2024 ballot if the House and Senate approve the same language again in 2023 or 2024.
“This amendment will allow the people, not unelected judges, and not us, to decide the issue of who’s going to make laws regarding abortion,” Chapman said.
On Monday, Nancy Northup, president and CEO of the Center for Reproductive Rights, the group challenging Mississippi over the law in court, said:
“Alarm bells are ringing loudly about the threat to reproductive rights. The Supreme Court just agreed to review an abortion ban that unquestionably violates nearly 50 years of Supreme Court precedent and is a test case to overturn Roe v. Wade.”
Pro-life supporters are eagerly anticipating the positive decision they have been working to achieve for almost 50 years. President Donald R. Trump made a powerful shift in the Supreme Count which will be important in the outcome of this case.

The really horrid and sad ending of a abortion is the long term affects on the mental stability of the mother. Too have a baby literally burned too death,dismembered inside. Mother’s body,too still have it born alive then hear the spinal cord snip. Then too find out your baby was was used for it’s organs,research, and not buried but cremated like a tumor.
Many a girl,woman now has recurring night terrors over who and what that child might of been.
As all know, and I have heard this a hundred times. Abortion was approved by democrats,aethrists,agnostics,,heathens, FOR FEAR THAT THE MESSIAH WOULD BE BORN.

We have come to see where all of this leads us. The sale of fetus tissue and harvesting of organs is now big business for the likes of Planned Parenthood and the University Of North Carolina. They now actively search for five month old fetuses that the require live birth abortions in order to harvest organs and tissue for experimentation in stem cell research. This is an illegal and clearly immoral practice that now happens on a daily basis. Medical professionals call themselves healers when in fact they are cold blooded killers. This entire scenario started in the fifties and early sixties over the allowable access to birth control and has morphed into an all out assault on the unborn. Young women proudly claim abortion is the greatest thing they have ever done and it’s truly disgusting. We are no longer talking about rape or incest as the required standard. We are bo longer talking about the health of the mother. We now accept any and all reasons for acceptable abortions. Time and again we compromise and time and again we see the leftists push the envelope with no regard to human decency. We’re told the planet is stressed due to overpopulation but the contraceptives argument was supposed to end that concern. The concept is short sighted and flawed. In the not so distant future we will begin to populate and inhabit other worlds like Mars and the moon. When this begins we are going to need all the people we can get. The reasons for acceptable abortions are so vastly different than what Roe V Wade had once argued that we have come to find this clearly was never about women’s rights or women’s health. This was about available access to human tissue and living hu.an tissue for experimentation and for women to ignore logic and common sense. To allow women to ignore the consequences of their actions. It’s about destroying the nuclear family in every way possible. We’ve watched our churches justify and normalize evil actions and behaviors in the name of understanding and commonality. This country has some very difficult decisions to make as where we are headed and if we choose wrong we will suffer the inevitable downfall that each and every society has had to face throughout history. When evil becomes the norm that society is doomed. We have passed that standard many decades ago and it’s time to stop the wholesale slaughter of innocent children any get back to the path of righteousness.
