Is Steve Jobs Alive?

There have been rumors of celebrities, such as Paul McCartney, who are very much alive, and yet are said to have died. Then there are even more stories of famous folks, such as Elvis, who have gone on to meet their makers, and yet rumors claiming they are still alive persist – with 100s of “Elvis Sightings” reported every year.

It seems that the “late” Apple founder, Steve Jobs has joined The King, as a picture has been circulating the internet that appears to show Jobs alive and well, sitting in a café in Egypt.

Jobs was diagnosed with a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor in 2003. His battle with cancer lasted for eight years until he died of respiratory arrest as a result of the tumor in 2011. He was 56 when he died. That has pretty much been an accepted fact, until recently.

Over the Labor Day Weekend, a photo was uploaded to Reddit that showed a man who looked exactly like Jobs sitting at a table in Egypt. Since the photo has been posted, people have been going crazy with conspiracy theories of how the Apple mogul could have faked his death in order to live out his life in anonymity. See the photo for yourself below, admittedly the likeness is remarkable.

Much like the raid on Area 51 (also reported in these pages) that began as a Facebook hoax, this picture was likely posted on Reddit as a joke. And yet, it had Reddit users thinking “what if?”

“I know this is supposed to be a joke, but WTF, this guy looks too much like Steve Jobs to be so random,” one person said on the Reddit thread.

“There’s a conspiracy theory that Steve Jobs faked his own death to lead a simple life in Egypt,” one person tweeted alongside the Reddit photo. “This is a photograph posted this week. I am skeptical that he would do this. But this photo does get you wondering. If it isn’t him, it is evident that we all have doppelgängers.”

One astute observer pointed out that it “couldn’t possibly be Jobs,” because the man in the photo isn’t “wearing an Apple Watch – a ‘dead’ giveaway!”

But even if the conspiracy isn’t true, people still want the guy in the photo to at least get a job out of the whole ordeal.

“Apple should hire this guy, bring him to USA and start a campaign that the Jobs is back from the dead,” one person on Reddit mused called – “iMalive.”
