Red Living: Russia and the Communist Lifestyle
As a fellow surf, Stalin would be envious of the growing class divide in modern Russia. After all, the dream of the withering away of the state into a classless society kept him up at nights. The fact that Russia alone has over 100 billionaires, and yet one-third of the country cannot afford two pairs of shoes is the icing on Stalin’s cake.
This is what success looks like in a communist economy. The bourgeois of Czarist times were replaced through bloody revolution by the current one-percenters, and the rising proletariat of Stalinism only lasted long enough to establish iron-fisted control of the state, where in many provinces now, most have no running water.
At the center of instability in the Russian hinterland (or actually stability, depending upon whether you are getting caviar or running water), is healthcare. To no one’s surprise, an economic system that pays doctors less than farmers is inherently unsustainable. In my March 1st article, The Economic Irony of Medicare for All, I cite Anne Yvonne Guillou in her thesis titled, “Medicine in Cambodia during the Pol Pot Regime.”
The rural proletariat was glorified, and put into positions, such as physicians, where they were to care for their fellow peasants in the tradition of the communist Chinese barefoot doctors. In similar fashion, Russian physicians are complaining of low wages and the closing of clinics in the hardest hit rural areas. This is the healthcare model that the enemy within would like you to have in the heartland of America. Please tell me why the best and brightest would go into a nationalized healthcare system, where their income would be on par with an assistant manager at Walmart.
Answer?
They won’t.
As long as capitalism dictates the order of supply and demand, that won’t happen. Yes, you will have doctors, but they will be of the Chinese barefoot type. Kind of like on-the-job training. As you can imagine, Bernie, Elizabeth Warren and the others would not be subject to this type of care. These socialists will benefit from the Orwellian, two-feet bad, four-feet good subjectivity.
Oh, by the way, when you stand up for change when the changing of the guards has passed, you will be punished in what could be considered Stalinist-light style. Dmitry Sokolov, a 48 year-old activist who’s playing a key role in mobilizing disgruntled medical staff in the Novgorod region, made a visit to the local clinic last month, where he found a district health authority security official waiting to prevent him from entering. I have told you for 20 years that fascism would come from the left in America.
Which side is railing for healthcare for all, mandatory income for all, and free college for all? If you are able to read between the lines in Russia boys and girls, you will get a glimpse of what the brown shirts on the left in America want to bring to a town near you.
Russia is doomed in the long run, as is any totalitarian state, past, present or future. Russia is but a speck on the world economic map, with GDP less than the powerhouses like Italy and Canada. People without hope will eventually either wither away or revolt. It seems implausible that the latter could happen. This is the paradox of the communist holy trinity in Marx the father, Lenin the son, and Stalin the spirit.
Many lessons learned throughout history have been relegated to the garbage dump. Schools have decided to ignore or rewrite history on a manner that leaves our youth completely ignorant of the sacrifices made to protect their freedoms. My grandfather passed a few years ago. He was naval SeaBee and during his funeral there was a color guard in his memory. The great grandchildren, some of which were in their twenties asked me why they were there. I answered because he was a World War 2 veteran. They had no idea what I was talking about. This really stunned me as I simply couldn’t believe schools weren’t teaching this anymore. That night I wrote his eulogy and I included a brief history lesson. I felt it was necessary to explain why he was who he was which in turn explained why their parents and grandparents were who they were included myself. The point is those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. It never ceases to amaze me how ignorant seemingly educated people cam be about the realities of the evils of mankind. How despicable communist countries treat their own people. It’s not utopian when classism exists. Our own nation is a shining example of the rights of human beings over the rights of the state. We are moving ever so surely towards the loss of this ideological government and I listen to many who are now adults claiming their socialist beliefs are what is best for our nation. They simply don’t understand. How could they when we’ve demonized America and praise countries like Russia and China? They listen to the senseless ramblings of Bernie Sanders Nancy Pelosi and whoever tells Biden his opinions. They really believe that if we give all people everything that somehow the wheels of society will keep turning. I tell them that much like in a union job it will sap the people of any will or drive to succeed. Why do anything of I’m getting paid regardless? Why care if opportunity is no longer there for me? It’s become a sad reality that lessons learned from history are going to have to be re-learned. We’ve allowed the socialist agendas to take to much control and we are quickly sliding into the exact same nonsense our forefathers fought and died to stop in our country and the world at large. I often say that when you choose to give away your rights for some promise of protection handouts or whatever carrot that’s dangling before you, you will lose that right forever. Today we see the leftists with their foot on the gas heading directly into a nation much like China and Russia. Where only the government matters. We hear the left praise people like Margaret Sanger because of her contributions to abortions without any understanding of her beliefs in Eugenics and her real reasons for abortions. They claim to be on favor of protecting minorities and the weak bit in reality she only wanted to eliminate undesirables ie blacks mentally and physically handicapped. She was as evil as Hitler as he too believed in Eugenics. We hear about how they wish to protect women’s rights yet push them aside for transgender athletes. In the end all they really wish to accomplish is total subjugation of the masses to their own ideological bloated government. I often wonder if they even understand themselves where this road leads. My guess is they do not. We must get back to educating our children and stop indoctrinating them or we are surely going to lose the one great free nation on this planet.
