US Bishops Vote to Ban Biden From Communion!

A council of US Catholic bishops has voted to keep President Joe Biden from taking Holy Communion because of his views on abortion.

After three days of online debate, the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) voted by three to one to draft new guidance on the eucharist. Conservative bishops are behind the push to draw up a new teaching document expected to say that Catholics who diverge from the church’s standpoint on abortion should be denied Holy Communion.

Bishop Kevin Rhoades of Fort Wayne-South Bend, who proposed the motion, said: “We need to accept the discipline that those who obstinately persist in grave sin are not to be admitted to holy communion.”

Biden, only the second Catholic behind JFK to be elected president, attends Mass every weekend and carries a rosary that belonged to his late son, said in response to the vote that the matter was private, saying only, “I don’t think that’s going to happen.”

US bishops voted 168-55 to advance plans for a statement on Communion access that will be reviewed at a future meeting, likely in November. The new teaching document, to be drafted by the doctrine committee of US bishops, will not be binding on individual bishops, who have the right to decide whether a parishioner should be denied Communion.

Some members of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops argued that a rebuke of Biden is needed as his administration promotes the expansion of abortion rights in other countries.

The Catholic archbishop of San Francisco, Salvatore Cordileone, said last month that Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) cannot be served Communion over their political support for abortion rights.

Cordileone said in an interview with The Daily Caller that he has privately discussed the issue with Pelosi and that she knows better than to do something “so provocative” as take Communion.

But Pope Francis, who is known for his oftentimes liberal views, is believed to oppose cutting off Communion to Biden. He said in a recent sermon that Communion “is not the reward of saints, but the bread of sinners,” and his allies campaigned against the US bishops’ push.

Catholics believe that bread and wine served during Communion literally becomes the blood and body of Jesus.

Biden is a frequent churchgoer and the first Catholic in office since the Supreme Court legalized abortion nationwide with the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision. The Catholic church says that Catholics in public life should uphold principles consistent with its doctrine. But in a survey carried out by the Pew Research Center in March, more than two-thirds of US Catholics said Biden’s views on abortion should not disqualify him from receiving Communion. What do you think?

    1. Those perverts should not be telling anyone what to do. All catholics are scum.

  1. It would appear that these priests and bishops who think it’s all right to go into communion with Jesus Christ would also allow the Devil to do so. Our Creator granted us life and strictly forbids one human to take another humans life.
An fetus is “not” a part of it’s mother’s body as Roe vs. Wade suggests. It is a separate creation. It’s arms are not its mother’s arms anymore than are its head, body, legs, heart or brain. When a murderer kills a pregnant woman he/she is charged with “two” murders and yet the courts say that only one body exists while the mother is alive. If that isn’t hypocrisy then I really don’t understand the meaning of the word.

  2. Biden & Pelosi should not receive communion until they quit advocating abortion and allowing illegal migration.

  3. He should not be allowed on any Church Property at all. Banish him. Too bad he wasn’t aborted.

    1. And, ALL OF YOU REPLYING …….You profess to be “Christian”, yet you totally reject it’s very premise. Regardless of your opinion, the ONLY OPINION allowed is that of God!!! You ALL are hipocrites, INCLUDING THE BISHOPS !!!!!

  4. Simply going to Church means absolutely nothing other than he/you sat down somewhere for an hour. True to form, he spends most of the time dozing. His actions show he doesn’t believe and is only lying to himself and God by going. Satan was once an Angel.

  5. LISTEN UP…GOD Does NOT Want ANYONE t o Take HOLY COMMUNION Who is NOT Following in HIS WAYS. THOSE Who Take COMMUNION and Do NOT FOLLOW HIM are OFFENDING HIM. GOD is the RULER of MEN. HE has the LAST WORD. From SamuraiQueen. ???

  6. Forgiveness requires contrition. If one repeatedly chooses sin they are not contrite. Without asking for forgiveness one will not be forgiven. If one doesn’t see their own sins and doesn’t ask for forgiveness that would be considered arrogance. This is in fact Biden’s biggest problem with his relationship with the church. It’s one thing not acquiesce to the powers of the church but another thing entirely when you refuse to abide to God’s laws. Thou shall not kill is not a political stance it is a key tennant of Christianity. This should not come as a surprise to Biden he has been a Catholic his entire life. I was raised Catholic but could not accept the church’s rigid construct given the double standards I witnessed. Do as I preach not as I do. Perhaps Biden Pelosi and others like them will begin to understand what it feels like to preach at is while doing whatever they choose. Imposing ideological concepts and laws on those they “rule over” has led to the downfall of many leaders in the past. Now we will see who Joe Biden really is. Will he change his stance on the wholesale slaughter of innocent children or will he retaliate against the church? It’s already been said the church may lose their tax exempt status if they ban Biden from communion. Many don’t understand what this really means to Biden. He is not excommunicated but the sacrament is about forgiveness in the eyes of the lord and much more. He will not be allowed to be buried on sacred ground. This is a very big thing to catholics. He likely expected to be buried near his loved ones. I’m not sure of the church will allow that now as they wouldn’t allow my parents because they divorced. It’s been a long time since I was a catholic so things surely have changed. This should however be a wake up call for politicians that feel their political stances can not be separated from their religious paths and I feel its a necessary stand the church should make. They should have made this stand long ago.
