What if a country’s military had the power to control the weather? That could be a more devastating weapon than lasers or nuclear missiles. Far-fetched? Not really. That was the goal of the supposedly shut down High Frequency Active Auroral Research or HAARP program.

Officially, HAARP is a research program designed to analyze the ionosphere, a portion of the upper atmosphere that stretches from about 53 miles above the surface of the Earth to 370 miles up. The program has been funded by the Air Force, the Navy, the University of Alaska and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, or DARPA.

HAARP was discontinued suddenly in 2013 but many say the program was successful, and recent unusual weather phenomena are evidence of HAARP technology being tested.

What is HAARP Really Trying to Accomplish?

Conspiracy theorists think HAARP’s purpose is far more sinister than the government would like us to believe. In 2010, Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez claimed that HAARP or a program like it, triggered the Haiti earthquake.

The program has been blamed for everything from global warming to natural disasters to mysterious humming noises in the sky. Name a natural phenomenon, and someone probably suspects HAARP of being behind it. Purposeful or accidental discharge of HAARP technology has been blamed for everything from the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan, to the recent spate of devastating tornados that ripped through Alabama. There are even those who believe that HAARP can be used to control minds over great distance, open portals to parallel earths or other dimensions, or even alter the very fabric of reality!

Now, a video from 2018 has surfaced, of square clouds, that many believe are an unnatural and impossible cloud formation that could only have been created by HAARP, and are evidence that — while the research facility supposedly remains closed — the technology was developed and is being used.

Are Square Clouds on the Level?

The video in question shows a single cloud shaped in a perfect square. The video, claimed to be filmed in Tuscon, Arizona in March of 2018, shows a large, thick cloud covering the sky on an otherwise clear day. As the camera moves to show more of the cloud it reveals perfect 90 degree angles and well defined edges against the backdrop of a blue sky.

There is no verification that the video is real, and not a hoax. Such a video could easily be faked with today’s video effects software, and square clouds — though exceedingly rare — have been seen before.

Why then make the leap that the oddly shaped clouds point to HAARP activity? HAARP has always denied that its technology had anything to do with weather control. An official statement reads, “…radio waves in the frequency ranges that HAARP transmits are not absorbed in either the troposphere or the stratosphere—the two levels of the atmosphere that produce Earth’s weather. Since there is no interaction, there is no way to control the weather.”

However, that has never stopped the theories and speculation. On the CIAs website there are number of programs listed that prove that the government’s interest in weather control technology is very real.
