Another Democrat City is Burning Down
Angry protesters clashed with police and looted businesses in western Philadelphia Monday night after a 27-year-old Black man was shot to death in a confrontation with city officers earlier in the day.
Walter Wallace, who was allegedly holding a knife, was fatally shot while two police officers were responding to a complaint about a man with a weapon in Cobbs Creek, according to the Associated Press. He “advanced toward” the officers, who then fired “several times,” the outlet reported.
Wallace was hit in both the shoulder and chest, then taken in a police vehicle to a hospital, where he died.
Following Wallace’s death, which was recorded and posted on social media, hundreds of people — some armed with bricks — protested in the 52nd Street commercial district, and the demonstration quickly turned violent. Police cars and dumpsters were set ablaze and NBC10 Philadelphia reported that at least 30 police officers were hurt.
A 56-year-old sergeant was struck by a truck and was hospitalized with a broken leg, among other injuries.
Stores including several Rite Aid pharmacies, a restaurant, and clothing and shoe shops were broken into. Two ATMs were also reported to have been smashed.
More than 30 people were arrested during the confrontation, according to police.
The Philadelphia Police Department confirmed to Fox News that two women and four men were arrested in looting at Snipe Sneaker Stores, four men were arrested in looting at the American Kids Store, seven men were arrested in looting at three Rite Aid locations, one man was arrested in looting at Jessabelle Restaurant and five juveniles were charged with looting at a Foot Locker.
City Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw arrived at the scene shortly after the shooting and wrote in a statement that she had “heard and felt the anger of the community.”
“Residents have my assurance that those questions will be fully addressed by the investigation,” she promised.
The names of the two officers involved in the shooting were not immediately released. Both were taken off street duty, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
“My prayers are with the family and friends of Walter Wallace,” Mayor Jim Kenney said in a statement. “I have watched the video of this tragic incident and it presents difficult questions that must be answered. I spoke tonight with Mr. Wallace’s family, and will continue to reach out to hear their concerns firsthand, and to answer their questions to the extent that I am able.”
Wallace’s father, Walter Wallace Sr., told the Inquirer that his son struggled with mental issues and that his wife had been “trying to defuse the situation.”
“Why didn’t they use a Taser?” he asked, referring to an electrical stun gun sometimes used to avoid deadly force.
The 52nd Street corridor has been the scene of unrest this year amid nationwide protests over social and racial inequality following the killing of George Floyd, a Black man who perished while being detained by Minneapolis police.
I would say I was sorry for the people but they elected the people running the cities so they will have to suffer. If they elected people who cared the police would put a stop to that right off the bat.
Its a sad day in our Nation that you can’t protect one another I think the mob violence and destruction we call “peaceful protestors” has heightened the fear in a policeman of being killed trying to do his duty. It did not matter to them that he was black. He was just a man with a knife. George Floyd was a man with a criminal record and a warrant out. Neither man was innocent.
Just a wonder why the people are still voting for democrats.
I hope the Governor closes all roads to Texas before the Democrats in Pennsylvania start running this way. They are determined to destroy Texas just like they did their home states.
They are going to have to start shooting rioters until they know it will not be tolerated it is shame but that is the way it is.

So, he had a knife and advanced toward the officers. I think the right thing to do is knock the knife out of his hand and ask him to sit down, politely of course. NO, why do people continue to break the law and put themselves and others into situations where something like this happens. Don’t rob stores, incite riots, and commit crimes. Yes, this was a sad thing, and he put himself in a situation for it to happen.

Why purchase something when you can steal it. The rioters and looters always claim that their stealing things doesn’t hurt anyone. Bull, what about all the damage to the stores, windows, people being hurt by tossed rocks and bricks. For some stupid reason they think that the owner’s insurance will cover the items that was stolen and the damage. NOT TRUE! Store owners will tell you that because of the to looting and damages, insurance companies have raised their rates, sometimes to the point that the owners no longer can carry insurance. So many of the rioters and looters run together and many times not from the location of the protests. Crooks and crooks. But when the police tell you to drop a gun or knife, or other weapons, drop them. In the cops minds, you have something in your hands that could hurt someone else or them. In some towns, the police are limited to what police tools they are permitted to use. Not everywhere do all the cops have tasers, helmets, or even vests. Chicago makes the police purchase their own vests because they are too damn cheap and don’t care about their officers.
