Violent Killers of Two Transgender Women Have Been Caught!
Last week police in Charlotte, North Carolina, arrested two men for the murders of two transgender women, putting a fearful community at ease.
Dontarius Long and Joel Brewer were charged with murder, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, as well as other charges in the women’s deaths, according to a police report.
“Our streets are a lot safer,” Police Chief Johnny Jennings said.
According to the local newspaper, The Charlotte Observer, Jaida Peterson was found shot on Easter Sunday at a Quality Inn near the airport. Eleven days later, Remy Fennell was found shot at a Sleep Inn in University City.
Police spokesman Rob Tufano said that both women were transgender, and both were sex workers. The two men had arrived at and left the hotels together, police said.
According to the Human Rights Campaign, at least 15 transgender or gender non-conforming people have been violently murdered in 2021.
Charlotte police are still searching for a motive for the attacks but have not ruled the murders as a hate crime. “The work is not done … There’s a lot of things that we have to look into,” said Jennings.
Multiple police agencies were involved in the murder investigations, including the FBI and police in Union County and in South Carolina.
Prior to the men being arrested, Charlotte police warned that someone might be targeting local trans women who engage in sex work. Officials said that there has “never been a more vulnerable time” for them.
Murders of transgender people are on the rise, and Black, transgender women, are especially at risk. According to the HRC, Black trans women are murdered disproportionately because each of their identities — being Black, being trans, and being women — puts them at a greater risk of being killed and being victims of other forms of discrimination, too.
Trans women of color are some of the most vulnerable in the LGBTQ+ community. Sex workers are disproportionately trans women of color — many don’t have any other options because of the racism, homophobia, and transphobia they face. They are more likely to be unemployed, more likely to live in poverty, more likely to be without a college degree, more likely to be incarcerated, and more likely to be homeless because of the discrimination they face.
They’re also more likely to experience violence in their lifetime. According to the National Center for Transgender Equality, more than one in four trans people has faced a bias-driven assault, and rates are higher for trans women and trans people of color.
CMPD Lt. Bryan Crum said police detectives are looking into the motive behind the murders and said they will explore whether to pursue hate crime charges if warranted.
Crum, the supervisor of the department’s Violent Crime Unit, said investigators are looking into how or whether Long and Brewer know each other. On Friday, he said police have evidence the two arrived and left the hotels together, and both have ties to Union County. There is also evidence of sexual activity at the scene of the crimes, Crum said, but it’s still unclear how the suspects connected with the victims.

It is a shame that two human beings lost there lives no matter their sexual orientation or color of their skin. The theory that I have is the anxiety brought on by this administration and the main steam media that is sensationalizing every shooting and killing as hate crime or racist. If the left keeps up this we are going to be more divided than ever. It is this administration to stop promoting all of these violent acts as systemic racism. It blows my mind that this administration has blamed Trump’s administration for the hate crimes against Asian Americans when in 90 per cent of the crimes were committed by African Americans. Why is the media so biased and can’t see the harm they are doing? Most importantly is allowing representatives like Waters and Pelosi encourage violence with impunity?

While the deaths of these two transgender people and the other 15 is disgusting they were working in a high risk ”profession”, why isn’t there the same outrage about the murder of thousands of the ”White collar crime” of abortion? Why isn’t there the same effort in finding the murders of the innocent children that are ”collateral damage” in the Black enclaves of the Democratic cities across America. In Chicago it is routine for two or three innocent children shot, sometimes sitting in their bedrooms or living rooms or outside playing on a barrage of gunfire, not by white Policemen but by the gang members that control and are protected by the parents of the victims. The political eunuchs pop up on the news and all they have to say is ”this is unacceptable”, we more gun control. Two days later these children are forgotten but only by their parents. All the top officials from the Mayor on down, through the County board are DEMOCRATS………and Black, some are even gay…………. Keep voting Democrat!!
Lucky for Dontarius and Joelshawn they are OF COLOR. Because if they was white, America’s world famous incompetent, lying media would be all over these murders!!!!

What a divisive rag you’re writing for. This has nothing to do with hate crimes any more than any other murder. You engage in the status quotient narrative that somehow these particular individuals were sought out only because they are black and trans. When in fact the perpetrators are black and likely gay. Prostitution is like playing Russian roulette and each and every time they engage their trade they are risking their lives. I seriously doubt we would be reading about this of in fact they were straight and white. Which makes you and your outlet some of the most despicable news outlets in existence.
