Space Force Commander Fired for Exercising Free Speech

A high-ranking officer of our military was relieved of his command after sharing his personal views on a popular podcast. Lt. Col. Matthew Lohmeier was relieved of his command of a Space Force Squadron after appearing on The Steve Gruber podcast to promote his new book, “Irresistible Revolution: Marxism’s Goal of Conquest & the Unmaking of the American Military.”

The Department of Defense is the foundation of our great country, defending our government and our Constitution. Of vital importance to American freedom is the First Amendment of our Constitution:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Defenders of Lohmeier claim his first amendment rights have been violated. Irresistible Revolution claims Marxist ideologies have become pervasive within the armed forces, as Lohmeier describes:

“Since taking command as a commander about 10 months ago, I saw what I consider fundamentally incompatible and competing narratives of what America was, is and should be. That wasn’t just prolific in social media, or throughout the country during this past year, but it was spreading throughout the United States military. And I had recognized those narratives as being Marxist in nature.”

Marxism is a political ideology of a society having no political or economic social classes. Contrary to free market capitalism, Marxism describes an idealistic society where all work for a common good, and class struggle is theoretically gone.

Lohmeier put his observations in terms of the New York Time 1619 Project which looks at slavery from a historical perspective:

“It teaches intensive teaching that I heard at my base — that at the time the country ratified the United States Constitution, it codified White supremacy as the law of the land,” Lohmeier said. “If you want to disagree with that, then you start (being) labeled all manner of things including racist.”

The first amendment rights protecting religion, press, freedom of speech, petition, and assembly are the foundation of the United States Constitution. Violation of these freedoms is the violation of our freedom. Such a violation is of great importance as it impinges on the freedom of each American citizen.

Lohmeier’s dismissal from his command is greatly alarming, especially as he was warning of the infiltration of un-American practices into the military. Were Lohmeier’s first amendment rights violated, or did he violate his duty to the armed forces?

Although there are no obstacles impinging upon the first amendment rights of military personnel, Department of Defense Directive 1344.10 states they may not engage in activities that associate the DOD with any partisan political campaign or elections, candidate, cause or issue.

Many believe Lohmeier’s rights were violated. Yet making claims that the military is being taken over by Marxist ideologies seems to be on the side of a partisan political cause. These claims may indeed be valid, but he should not be making them and instilling unrest in the military while serving active duty.

  1. The Idea of “Democracy” as dogmatized by this “Democrat Party” (NOT by any others before, except by the Obama-Biden one – But still at more moderate terms) is one designed on the basis of Aldus Huxley’s “Brave New World” – without natural procreations and, therefore, without real sex, sexuality nor emotion, not to mention family and natural bonding and belonging. Added to this come elements from “1984”, another Anti-Utopia concerning total control of media and brainwashing. In its main effects all this is already here and put in practice. HIGHEST ALERT IS CALLED FOR!

  2. The position of military leadership requires a certain measure of discretion when relaying personal political views. Many have attempted the same with similar results. Unfortunately what he speaks of is absolutely factual. It’s the unspoken detail of progressive politics in the current era. Cancel culture along with the woke ideology has its roots directly from “critical theory” now labeled “critical race theory”. This theory has its origins in anti Semitic policies during the Nazi reign in Germany. The critical theory is an attempt to redefine and apply Marxism. Although the theory has had many changes and adaptations the Marxist ideology remains a constant. It seeks to determine truth through the lenses of social justice and emancipation ie revolution. See Franfort School. When all we have known to be true seems to have been turned upside down its because of this theory and its requirement to reject social norms and embrace an antiestablishment mentality. The goal is destroy all social convention from the inside of any given country in order to reestablish new conventions based on “social justice”. Unfortunately nobody ever explains precisely what social justice looks like and where exactly this ends. Given the past and even present actions of any authoritarian government we have little hope to trust in that form of governance. In fact the communist credo requires the suspension of individual rights as the state is paramount and the individual secondary. We see the destruction of the nuclear family being touted daily by those who would see our rights and family tossed aside for vague promises that government will provide. This is just another example of communist actions under the guise of social justice. I believe that most who support these ridiculous notions have no real idea of exactly what they are supporting nor do they realize how easily the right to support any idea is actually one of things they will lose I’d in fact what they support succeeds in its goal to destroy democracy and free thought. When Biden announced that the military, therefore taxpayers, must pay for all six change operations I believe we get a fairly accurate picture of where our military is headed. Most of us racist homophobic haters could really care less what someone does with their own bodies yet it’s unlikely we support having to pay for someone else’s psychological conditions. Body dismorphia is considered a mental disorder. This all started long ago with the Clinton administration and as we all know these things once started are difficult to stop. Since we can never expect this to stop as Marxism requires constant rejection of social norms including future constructs speaking out is a necessity from all Americans before we lose the privilege forever. Educate yourself because communism is at your doorstep and I fear we are losing the battle many don’t even realize we’re fighting.

  3. I am one of many that believes that Lohmeier’s rights were violated. I say it’s his duty to come forward with it and it should instill unrest in the military until this matter is settled. This shod not be covered up.

  4. How about me telling you about a real cover up in the Space program. First let me give you the name of the real flight director for Apollo 11 flight to the moon. His name was Clifford L Charlesworth. To give you a little background on this man, I first met Clifford when he coached us a the local Boy’s cub in Jackson, Ms. in baseball and later he attended Mississippi College in Clinton. Clifford died before president Trump gave out the awards to those responsible for this great adventure, and guess what ? Without naming him, another took credit. I don’t even believe the President was aware of this.
