Police Unions Viscously Shred MSNBC
Police unions across the country are laying into MSNBC for claims by the left-leaning outlet that police are to blame for the post-COVID surge in violent crime sweeping so many parts of the nation.
As the left struggles to defend its “defund the police” stance, with crime rates skyrocketing in mostly blue states, major media left-wing broadcaster MSNBC is facing intense scrutiny after reportedly claiming police are to blame for rising crime. MSNBC contributor Brittany Cunningham alleged rising crime was the fault of police and had nothing to do with the “defund the police” movement.
In a statement following the show, Detectives Endowment Association President Paul Digiacomo argued Cunningham’s remarks did not “make common sense” because New York had far fewer homicides before liberal legislators “defunded” their police department.
New York State Trooper Thomas Mungeer also weighed in by saying crime upticks over the last year have been from cutting police forces and handcuffing officers from doing their jobs. He asserted there was “no other way to quantify” it.
Cunningham went on to also claim police departments were ineffective at helping people. Her claims were in stark contrast to a recent report, which showed the addition of more NYPD patrols underground has resulted in a decrease in assaults on New York City subways.
With at least 200 U.S. police departments reporting a 45 percent increase in retirement and an 18 percent rise in resignations compared to 2020, officers have hit their breaking point. Sergeant Jake Verhalen from Fulsom County, California, weighed in on personnel difficulties by saying he believes rhetoric and policies surrounding the death of George Floyd have been largely responsible for this.
“Some of it has to do with pay and benefits, but I think there is a bigger picture. That being, this public discourse, if you will, against the police and some young people perhaps are asking themselves the question, is that really a career path that I want to go down.”
Meanwhile, on the East Coast, former NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton has echoed these concerns. Earlier this month, he predicted a steep increase in crime this summer and warned if the left keeps pushing the “defund the police” movement, streets will not be safe because law enforcement will not have the manpower or resources to protect Americans from criminals.
In the last three months of 2020, homicides rose 32.2% in cities with a population of at least one million, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Quarterly Uniform Crime Report. Law-enforcement officials and criminologists say pandemic stress and a police pullback amid protests are likely contributors.
Now, faced with staggering increases in violent crimes, a year after the movement to “defund” law enforcement began to upend municipal budgets, many American cities are restoring money to their police departments or proposing to spend more.
In addition to the moves made by New York Mayor DeBlasio, which have resulted in safer streets and subways, after attacks on Asian-Americans and a rise in homicides in Oakland, Calif., city lawmakers in April restored $3.3 million of the $29 million in police cuts, and the mayor is now proposing to increase the department’s budget by $24 million. Los Angeles’s mayor has proposed an increase of about $50 million after the city cut $150 million from its police department last year.
“It’s hard to have a serious conversation with folks about cutting a police department’s budget when crime is up,” said Michael Nutter, the former mayor of Philadelphia and a Democrat.
If I were the Gov. I’d hold them at gun point and make them remove that yellow paint off of the highways and bldgs. Nothing but pure disrespect. I agree with you Chris that the majority of the American public is fed up with the communist Democrats but I am concerned that the corrupt Democrats will be kept in power through voter fraud.
If states are not proactive in reforming election laws then the Democommies will remain in power.
It is imperative that we conservatives get highly involved in selecting our election committees and selecting and voting for conservative candidates to run for city, school boards, county, sheriff, judicial, DA, and State (Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Representatives and Senators). These local and state elections are just or more important than federal elections.
We must elect people who will enact honest, fair, transparent, election reform laws that will ensure fair and honest elections. Needed reforms:
•Legal Citizenship Registration Only
•Voter ID REQUIRED to vote at polling stations
•Voter rolls updated and verified
•No mail-in ballots except requested absentee ballots that must be signature verified against voter registration
•Absentee Ballot Request Verification
•All absentee ballots MUST be received prior to Election Day to be counted
•Signatures required on all paper ballots as well as the voters printed name
•Name and address of voter required on ballot envelope. Name on envelope must match printed name and signature on ballot
•All ballot envelopes must be kept with their ballots for audit purposes
•Provisional ballots must be signed and signature verified against voter registration rolls
•Absolutely NO fixing of paper ballots
•Bipartisan chain of custody required for all paper ballots for entire process
•Paper ballots may begin being processed by the counting centers before the polls close, but no data results may be made public until the respective poll is closed. All paper ballots must be processed before the counting center is closed for the night; no ballots are to be left uncounted and processed the following day or later in the week
•No ballot drop boxes period
•Bipartisan chain of custody required for all machines for the entire process
•Machines to be stored is secure warehouse with 24/7 cameras and system monitoring
•Bipartisan machine set up at warehouse and/polling centers
•No Voter Machinery with WiFi or internet connection for entire process
•It should be illegal for any voter data to be sent outside the USA to be processed or stored.
•Bipartisan poll watchers MUST be allowed by law at each counting station, any counting center worker who prevents bipartisan monitoring will be removed from the center and prosecuted
•ALL counting stations at counting centers MUST have bipartisan poll watchers whenever ballots are being processed
•All election results for each state MUST be audited prior to state certification and electoral college delegates designated
If these reforms were passed as laws by all 50 state legislatures and then REQUIRED by law to be enforced by governors, secretaries of states; we would have fair, honest, and transparent elections.

Why hasn’t the Police Union leaders not been fighting back earlier? If the are smart and truly want to protect our men and women in blue the Union bosses need to start multiple attack campaign against the five worst officials in our Nation. It could be a Mayor, a Governor, a Jihad Congress person, a Turn coat Senator.
The officers must demand this as a counter measure to all the lies, illegality and just nasty haters. It is not, NOT ever officers crime because Floyd died. Your dues should be used for your benefit. All Union Leaders, need to set up a strategy of who is the targeted officials. The politicians who go after the safety Officers.
Only until elected officials realize that you will not take this criminal communistic stand down orders from the left only then will the balance of safety which is so necessary be brought back.
If the leaders of the Union do not organize this then vote them out as well.

A friend of mine just had an auto accident and the local police deserves heaps of credit for the way they responded, how they dealt with the accident scene, and how they handled the victims. Regardless of the drive to defund the police I, for one, can’t thank them enough for their recent responsiveness to the mishaps I encountered and subsequently experienced and address as a job well done. When it comes to these alleged-disgruntled activist who spew such hostility and push their defund agenda keep them in the towns, villages, and cities where they belong and reside but away from and out of where I live . For what those in blue go through in my city they deserve every penny they earn through the taxes I and my equally satisfied neighbors pay. Yah, they may not be 100% perfect in every way but I’ll deal with that locally since neither am I a picture of perfection. I’m not at all dissatisfied with the men and women in blue and what and endure in service to my community. Punish and jail the looters and criminals not those in service to the community who strive to protect it from the criminals who loot, pillage, and set ablaze that which is not their own but the property of others who earned it as law abiding and hardworking Americans.
Defund the police, release all the criminals, and take away law abiding citizen’s guns thereby eliminating any defense against the ensuing crime wave. This is what the Demokrats want to do to you America — time to wake up!
